Feeling Groovy?! The 70’s are back in Fashion! It’s all about high waisted flared pants! They are very figure flattering if paired with the right shoes and top. They’re harder to style than your everyday skinny jeans.
Currently we have been pairing our sweaters and other tops with skin-tight around the ankle jeans (which are always a great look). It’s refreshing to see a change in style! So moving forward we will be seeing flashbacks of the 70’s.
Cropped tops, short jackets and tucked in shirts are perfect for flares. Adding layers like a kimono, a long flowy vest or a scarf also give them a great look. Considering that they are high waisted, and I wanted to keep it professional by not showing midriff, I went with a short boxy lace top from Zara. It gives me a relaxed but feminine look.
As far as shoes goes. I personally love wearing a heel. Heels give me both added height and a flattering look. It is difficult to find that perfect shoe without making the flares look too short or where your dragging them on the floor. I went with a simple yet classic Franco Sarto open-toed 2 inch wedge. They gave the pants just the right amount of height. Of course the fringe bag adds some 70’s “flare.”
Now boogie on down to the mall and pick up a pair of fab flares and embrace that haute hippie vibe.
